AIUB hosts “The Ideas Challenge 2025” to inspire innovation and social impact
The American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted "The Ideas Challenge 2025" on its campus, organised by Shomoy, the university's Social Welfare Club.
With the theme "Ideas that Change Lives and Shape the Future," the event was attended by bright young minds from across the country to showcase innovation and social responsibility.
The competition was inaugurated by Ishtiaq Abedin, Founding Member of AIUB. Among the distinguished attendees were Group Captain (Retd.) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar of AIUB; Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean (In-Charge) of the Faculty of Business Administration; and Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor of AIUB. Faculty members, mentors, club representatives, and students were also present to encourage the participants.
A total of 50 educational institutions from across Bangladesh took part in the event, presenting innovative projects and posters aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ideas focused on critical areas such as youth employment, gender equality, physical and mental healthcare, poverty alleviation, digital innovation, infrastructure, climate action, and sustainable food and waste management.
At the closing and award ceremony, Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB, attended as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, was present as Special Guest. Winners received attractive prizes and certificates in recognition of their creativity and problem-solving skills.
The day concluded with a vibrant cultural program, celebrating the participants' enthusiasm and achievements.
The Ideas Challenge 2025 continues to serve as a platform for nurturing creativity, promoting collaboration, and empowering youth to generate innovative solutions for a better and more sustainable future.
