Azmal Huda, bKash CPTO, goes live to present new app updates to digital creators

To celebrate bKash's latest app update this week, Azmal Huda, the company's Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), presented an in-depth walkthrough of the newly launched features to a group of prominent digital creators.

The presentation went live from bKash headquarters, drawing thousands of viewers who joined to watch the presentation in real time. It highlighted key improvements designed to enhance simplicity, personalisation, and accessibility for millions of bKash users. Participating creators included Sabila Nur (Actress), Farhan (Liliput Farhan), Neyon (Neyon & On), and Tushar (ATC Android ToTo Company).

During the presentation, he shared that over 5 crore users in Bangladesh have downloaded the bKash app, reflecting its widespread national adoption. He emphasized that inclusivity has always been a central focus for bKash; ensuring that people across different literacy levels and device types, including button-phone users, can stay within the bKash ecosystem.

Azmal Huda explained that the app's development follows two core principles: simplicity and security. He highlighted the company's commitment to human-centric design, ensuring that essential financial tasks remain easy to perform for all customer segments, regardless of their familiarity with technology. He reiterated bKash's intention to maintain a consistent and user-friendly experience across the platform.

The updated app introduces several new features, including a customizable theme option. Users can personalise their interface by navigating to Profile > Theme and selecting a look based on personal preference or occasion. According to the CPTO, this enhancement is aimed at allowing customers greater control over their app environment.

He also discussed upgrades to the "My Offers" section, where users will now receive activity-based reward points and personalized deals. Each offer set will be unique to the user, with rewards available for specific transactions or engagement patterns. Huda noted that customers can expect to see new, individualized items each time they open the section.

Another addition, the "Rewards Points" dashboard, will help users understand how their points were earned, their current level, and which activities contributed to their growth. Elements such as favourite numbers and account age will also appear here. This dashboard falls under "My bKash", a personalized space that provides users with a clear overview of their usage history and associated benefits.

Looking ahead, Huda stated that bKash is moving toward a more data-driven future, aiming to deliver timely and relevant features to users as its platform evolves. He noted that these improvements are intended to encourage deeper engagement and ensure the service continues to add meaningful value for customers.

Reflecting on the company's growth, he mentioned that bKash launched its core service in 2011, and the app journey formally began in 2018. Since then, the organization has consistently introduced new tools shaped by human-centric design principles to further enhance the user experience.
