GP partners with BSCL to offer Starlink satellite internet

Starlink’s satellite connectivity will serve as a backup link during fibre cuts, natural disasters or rural outages.

Grameenphone has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited to bring Starlink's next-generation satellite internet services to its corporate clients in Bangladesh.

The service is designed for industries where terrestrial networks are limited but reliable, low-latency connectivity is essential.

The collaboration will help Grameenphone's B2B customers stay connected even in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

The agreement was signed at GPHouse by Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, and Dr Muhammad Imadur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of BSCL. Dr Asif Naimur Rashid, Chief Business Officer of Grameenphone, and senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony.

Dr. Asif Naimur Rashid, Chief Business Officer of Grameenphone, said, "At Grameenphone, we are continuously looking for ways to bring best-in-class connectivity solutions to our enterprise customers. This collaboration with BSCL marks another step in our commitment to ensuring business continuity and resilience for organizations operating across Bangladesh. With Starlink's advanced satellite technology, our B2B partners, especially those operating in remote energy fields, coastal operations, or border zones, will be able to stay connected, productive, and future-ready."

Dr. Muhammad Imadur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of BSCL, added, "We are pleased to partner with Grameenphone to expand satellite broadband access for the GP's enterprise sector. Together, we aim to strengthen Bangladesh's digital backbone, ensuring uninterrupted communication for critical operations in even the most geographically challenging areas."
