Syngenta Bangladesh named ‘Innovation Leader of the Year 2025’ by FICCI
Syngenta Bangladesh has been awarded the "Innovation Leader of the Year 2025" by the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) under its Sustainability & Innovation Awards, which recognise excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices among member organisations.
The recognition celebrates Syngenta Bangladesh's flagship sustainability initiative, "GoGrow: Enriching the Livelihood of Coastal Belt Farmers," for its transformative contribution to promoting climate-resilient agriculture and strengthening the livelihoods of farming communities in the country's southern coastal belt.
Implemented in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, the GoGrow project addresses the pressing challenges faced by smallholder farmers affected by rising salinity and erratic weather conditions. By introducing saline-tolerant crop varieties, rainwater harvesting systems, and regenerative agricultural practices, the initiative has enabled farmers to achieve higher yields, increase household incomes, and restore sustainable livelihoods.
Through community-led training, knowledge-sharing platforms, and partnerships with government bodies and research institutions, GoGrow has emerged as a model for inclusive, climate-smart agriculture — turning environmental challenges into opportunities for resilience and growth.
According to Syngenta Bangladesh, this recognition reaffirms the company's commitment to driving innovation with sustainability at its core. "We continue to place farmers at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that each innovation contributes to long-term agricultural and environmental sustainability," the company stated.
Syngenta Bangladesh, a joint-venture public limited company between Syngenta AG (Switzerland) and the Government of Bangladesh through the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), is a leading agtech organization supporting millions of farmers worldwide in growing safe, nutritious food while protecting the planet.
