Two more arrested over Jubo Dal leader Kibria murder
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two top criminals, including an accused, in the case filed over the killing of Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria in Dhaka's Pallabi area.
The arrestees were identified as Shohel alias Pata Shohel alias Monir Hossain, and Sujon.
Confirming the development, Major Mohammad Abrar Foysal, operations officer of Rab-4, told The Daily Star that a team of Rab-4 conducted drives and arrested the duo. Shohel was arrested from Savar's Birulia, while Sujon was arrested from an area under Tongi West Police station.
Kibria, member secretary of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal's Pallabi thana unit, was shot dead inside a hardware shop in Pallabi's Block C on Monday evening in what investigators described as a targeted attack. The assailants, caught on CCTV, fled the scene immediately after opening fire.
Rab said further details about the suspects, their roles in the killing, and the motive behind the attack will be disclosed at the briefing.
Earlier, Jony Bhuiyan, the prime accused in the case, was detained in Pallabi Section-12 following the incident on Monday.
Kibria's wife Sabiha Akther Dina filed the murder case with Pallabi Police Station against five named and seven to eight unnamed individuals.
