On the back of a 1-0 defeat in the recently-concluded Test series against Sri Lanka and with a packed schedule ahead of Bangladesh, some of the members of the national team have taken a break ahead of their upcoming West Indies tour next month.

“I think Sri Lanka are still behind. If we can pick up a few early wickets in the first hour of the [third] day, then we will have the upper hand. The first innings is crucial. If they get close to our total or go past it, then we will be on the back foot. So it will be important to take a first-innings lead,” Liton opined.

Even though Bangladesh lost two early wickets on the second day of their second Test against Sri Lanka in Mirpur today, Mushfiqur Rahim kept on going as the experienced campaigner brought up his 150. 

There were very slim chances that the Chattogram Test, between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, would render a result. In fact, Sri Lanka all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva admitted that they ‘knew it was going to be a draw from the first day.’
