Internationally acclaimed director Kamar Ahmad Simon is rather well-versed in the art of dealings on the international film festival scale. Over the years, he has accumulated numerous awards. To add to his repertoire, his fourth and much-awaited film “Shikolbaha” (Silence of the Seashell) has recently been nominated for the prestigious Golden Goblet Award in the main competition of the Shanghai International Film Festival, which is Asia’s largest film festival.

Faysal Ahmed (pseudonym) found himself entangled in a web of deceit that began with a seemingly innocuous message on WhatsApp. A promise of an online job, offering payment for simple product or service reviews, lured Faysal into a fraudulent scheme that ultimately cost him a fortune.

The Dhaka University Metro Station became the latest station to open on the MRT-6 line yesterday. After a one-year wait, since the Agargaon-Uttara section of the MRT-6 was opened on December 28 last year, the station at DU welcomed students and commuters for the first time.
