DIU holds ‘Oitijjer Haat 2025’ with BRAC Bank

The daylong festival took place at the Independence Conference Hall. This year’s theme was “Branding Bangladesh.”

Daffodil International University organised "Oitijjer Haat 2025" for the fourth time, showcasing the heritage, products, culture and cuisine of all 64 districts of Bangladesh.

The daylong festival took place at the Independence Conference Hall and was hosted jointly by the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BRAC Bank PLC. This year's theme was "Branding Bangladesh."

The inauguration ceremony featured Professor Dr M R Kabir, Syed Abdul Momen, Professor Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Dr Hamidul Haque Khan, Jakirul Islam, Khadiza Mariam, Professor Dr Rakibul Kabir, Dr K M Hasan Ripon and Kamruzzaman Didar. Entrepreneurs, industry representatives, faculty members, students and participants from across the country attended.

Held as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, the festival supports the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. GEN Bangladesh is hosting more than 100 events nationwide.

The programme displayed rural products, local cuisine, handicrafts, folk culture and branding projects prepared by DIU students. Young entrepreneurs showcased innovative products and business ideas.

"Oitijjer Haat" began in 2022 and has received copyright recognition. It has grown into one of DIU's flagship events and is now seen as a model for cultural branding and youth entrepreneurship.

Dr Md Sabur Khan said, "Oitijjer Haat connects young people to their cultural roots and opens new avenues for entrepreneurial empowerment. This is not just an exhibition it is part of Bangladesh's growing entrepreneurial movement."

Syed Abdul Momen said, "BRAC Bank has long been contributing to the development of SME entrepreneurs. Oitijjer Haat is a powerful platform for showcasing the potential of local entrepreneurs."

Professor Dr M R Kabir said, "This event plays a significant role in bringing the diverse traditions of all 64 districts to the younger generation. It will have a positive impact at the national level."

Professor Mohammad Masum Iqbal said, "Oitijjer Haat is an exceptional initiative that brings our culture, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial potential. It will continue to inspire the new generation."

Organisers said the 2025 edition supports cultural heritage and youth-led entrepreneurship and expressed hope that the event will gain wider international visibility in the future.
