First phase of SOLVIO AI Hackathon 2025 ends with record participation
The first phase of the SOLVIO AI Hackathon 2025 has concluded with record participation and diverse representation, marking a major step forward in Bangladesh's pursuit of AI-driven innovation.
The event has emerged as a national platform for young innovators to tackle real-world challenges through artificial intelligence.
A total of 538 teams, comprising 3,265 participants from over 60 institutions, took part in the hackathon - reflecting its broad reach and inclusivity. Notably, 43.59% of participants were female, highlighting the growing presence of women in the tech ecosystem, while 68.5% came from STEM backgrounds, underscoring the event's strong technical foundation.
As the hackathon advances to Phase 2, expectations are high for transformative ideas that could drive innovation across sectors such as SMEs, fintech, and education. The initiative continues to position Bangladesh as a hub for emerging AI talent and practical innovation.
Organised by SOLVIO, in partnership with SheSTEM (an initiative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) and Programming Hero, the hackathon aims to nurture collaboration, creativity, and entrepreneurship among Bangladesh's next generation of AI leaders.
