Pearson and British Council honour top students at Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards

The ceremony was held at the Hall of Fame of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.

Pearson Edexcel, in partnership with the British Council, hosted the 12th Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards on November 21, 2025, to recognise Bangladeshi students who excelled in the International Primary, International Lower Secondary, International GCSE and International A Level examinations.

The ceremony was held at the Hall of Fame of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.

Kathryn Booth, Director, Pearson School Qualifications, attended as the chief guest. Maxim Raimann, Exams Director Bangladesh, British Council, and Sakib Ershad, Director, Trade and Investment, British High Commission Bangladesh, were present as special guests.

This year, 736 students were honoured. Among them, 24 achieved World Highest marks, 4 received Asia Highest awards, and 41 secured the highest marks in Bangladesh. Awardees included 21 iPrimary, 1 iLowerSecondary, 456 International GCSE and 183 International A Level students.

Speakers congratulated the achievers and thanked teachers and parents. Kathryn Booth encouraged students to stay curious and use their talents to make a positive impact, saying, "The recognition the awardees receive today for their outstanding achievements is both a certificate of excellence and a credential for their future."

Maxim Raimann said, "At the British Council, we build bridges of understanding through education, helping every generation rise together."

Pearson representatives Abdullah Al Mamun Liton and Jannatul Ferdous Sigma highlighted how Pearson Edexcel qualifications continue to create global opportunities for Bangladeshi students. Since 2012, the awards have recognised more than 8,000 high achievers.
