Voices for Palestine: BUFT hosts solidarity event in support of humanity
The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized a day-long event titled "Voices for Palestine: A Solidarity Event" at its Permanent Campus Auditorium in Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka, expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine and raising awareness about their enduring humanitarian struggle.
Yousef S. Y. Ramadan, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bangladesh, attended the occasion as chief guest, while Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees (BoT), presided over the session.
The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT, as guest of honor, alongside Mohammed Nasir, Member of the BoT, and Mufti Saiful Islam, Khotib of Masjid-Ut-Taqwa, Dhanmondi, as special guests.
Speakers highlighted the importance of global unity, human rights, and youth engagement in promoting peace and justice for the Palestinian cause. Faculty members, students, and guests shared reflections through speeches, discussions, and exhibition performances, expressing solidarity and empathy.
In his remarks, Yousef S. Y. Ramadan praised BUFT for "embodying humanity and global solidarity through action," while Faruque Hassan commended the initiative as "a testament to BUFT's dedication to nurturing socially conscious and globally responsible students."
The event concluded with a documentary screening, art exhibition, and photo gallery walk, offering a moving portrayal of resilience and compassion — symbolizing Bangladesh's enduring support for the people of Palestine.
