Wellbeing support group for young adults launched in Bangladesh

The pilot will begin in Uttara and will focus on building accessible, community-based coping support for young people.

Moshal Mental Health and the Innovation for Well-being Foundation (IWF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the Healing Circle - the first structured wellbeing support group for students and young adults in Bangladesh.

The pilot will begin in Uttara and will focus on building accessible, community-based coping support for young people.

The Healing Circle will provide a safe space for young adults to connect and take part in guided group sessions designed to support emotional wellbeing, peer bonding, and practical coping strategies. The support group will target individuals aged 18 to 35, including adolescents, students, and young professionals.

Moshal Mental Health is a youth-led organisation promoting mental health awareness through community interventions, accessible resources, and stigma-free dialogue. The organisation works with recognised psychologists, psychiatrists, and mental health experts to make mental health care more accessible and affordable in Bangladesh.

IWF focuses on mental well-being and human rights through advocacy, professional care, and inclusive programme implementation. The organisation works to build systems of support across the country.

Speaking about the initiative, Moshal's Founding President, Maria Mumu, said, "There is no community in each of these areas. This is very important for young people's healing journey."
Monira Rahman, Executive Director of IWF, added, "It's a safe space for young people to find the support and healing that they need. Because together we are stronger."

The Healing Circle aims to establish a new model of community-based wellbeing support in Dhaka, with plans to expand to additional areas in the future.
