Cyclone Ditwah: Maritime ports advised to hoist Signal 2
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning Signal No 2 due to the cyclonic storm "Ditwah".
The cyclone over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Sri Lanka moved northwards over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamil Nadu Coast, said a Met office bulletin.
It was centred at 6:00am on Sunday about 1,775 km southwest of Chattogram port, 1,730km southwest of Cox's Bazar port, 1,630km southwest of Mongla port and 1,645km southwest of Payra port.
It is likely to move northwards further.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 54km of the cyclone centre is about 62kph rising to 88kph in gusts or squalls. The sea will remain very rough near the eye of the cyclone.All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised not to venture into the deep sea till further notice.
