Attack on indigenous people condemned
Leaders of the indigenous community on Friday demanded punishment to those who tortured the indigenous people of Kalenga forest in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj.
They also demanded a separate land commission for the community.
They were speaking at a meeting while visiting the indigenous people at Debrapara Tripura under the upazila.
Manish Chandra Debbarma, headman of village, said, "We live an insecure life."
Jonok Debbarma, former general secretary of Bangladesh Tripura Kalyan Sangsad, said the life of the ethnic minorities is getting harder as they are being evicted from their lands in many parts of the country.
Sudipta Das Rinku, Prosun Kanti Dutta, Ridiam Manar, and Nitesh Sutradhor also spoke.
