The Daily Star start strong

The Daily Star kicked off their Marcel-BSJC Media Cup football campaign with a 1-0 win over Banik Barta at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium yesterday.

Rafiul Islam, who scored the only goal of the game, was adjudged the man of the match.

A total of six matches were held on the opening day while six more matches are scheduled to be played today.

In yesterday's other matches, Bangladesh Television beat Kalerkantha 1-0, Dhaka Tribune thrashed ATN Bangla 4-0, Jagonews24.com beat Maasranga TV 3-0, Jamuna TV routed New Nations 4-0 while Naya Diganta and RTV played out a goalless draw.

The tournament, featuring 24 media houses, will  continue till May 13.
