Did DCs and SPs flex power with EC?

In a recent meeting between the Election Commission (EC), deputy commissioners (DC), and superintendents of police (SP), on October 8, 2022, some members DCs and SPs allegedly showed defiance against hearing what one of the election commissioners was saying.

Can, ethically or legally, DCs and SPs can show any kind of defiance against EC regarding the election procedure? What does it indicate about the credibility of the next national polls?
