Hasan Murad ended Ireland's stubborn resistance, picking up the final two wickets in consecutive deliveries to bowl out the Irish for 291 and seal a 217-run victory for Bangladesh on Day 5 of the second Test and seal the two-match series 2-0 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

The Mount Maunganui Test in January 2022, when Bangladesh beat the then ICC World Test Championship holders New Zealand in their own backyard, remains their biggest achievement in the five-day format till date.

Bangladesh opener Joy was adjudged Player of the Match, while debutant Hasan Murad made a significant impact by picking up six wickets across both Irish innings.

Bangladesh's bowlers were relentless, led by Hasan Murad, who delivered a remarkable spell, taking three wickets for just one run. Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed chipped in with two wickets apiece, ensuring the West Indies XI could not mount a significant challenge.

Murad has claimed 136 wickets in 30 first-class matches since his debut in 2021.

Spinner Nayeem Hasan was adjudged the player of the tier-2 tournament for his 36 scalps.    

Chattogram's Hasan Murad had already had a four-for before Day Four began and had scalped three wickets in four deliveries on the previous day before stumps at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in the NCL's tier 2 game.
