The proposed regulatory and licensing guidelines for broadband service providers could increase internet costs for users by at least 20 percent due to new fees and charges.

Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) is reducing the prices of all types of internet by 10%. The decision was taken at the company's board meeting yesterday. As a result, companies will reduce their costs in both mobile internet and broadband services.

Bangladeshis are overpaying for the internet they are getting, and only 24% of the world is overpaying more than Bangladesh.
