Bangladesh made a commanding start to their AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over Timor-Leste in their opening Group A match in China on Saturday.

Hoping to reach the finals after 19 years, the Bangladesh are set to begin their AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign when the men in red and green take on the largely unknown Timor-Leste in the Group A opener in China today

In Timor-Leste’s first-ever international match held last Thursday, father and son Suhail Sattar (50) and Yahya Suhail (17) took the field together for the country, becoming the first father-son duo to appear in the same men’s international cricket fixture.
