India retained the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup crown with a 35-28 points victory over Chinese Taipei in a thrilling final at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Monday.

After opening their World Cup campaign in Group ‘A’ with a 42-22 victory over Uganda and sweeping aside Germany 57-27 in their second match, Bangladesh could not maintain their winning run in their third outing -- falling 43-18 to defending world champions India.

At halftime, Bangladesh led 28–9.

Hosts Bangladesh are slotted in Group A alongside defending champions India, Thailand, Uganda and Germany in the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025, set to begin in Dhaka from November 17.
