Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman today expressed hope that the Corps of Signals will continue its contribution to nation-building through development activities carried out with honesty, sincerity, and a strong sense of duty.

He made the remark while addressing the Annual Commanding Officers' Conference-2025 of the Corps of Signals held at the Signal Training Centre and School (STC&S) in Jashore Cantonment, said a press statement of the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

General Waker attended the event as the chief guest.

On his arrival at STC&S, he was received by the general officer commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC); GOC of the 55 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Jashore Area; and the commandant of STC&S.

During his address, the army chief exchanged views with the commanding officers and other officials of the Corps on technological development, research, professional skills, and future plans.

He also paid tribute to the members of the Corps and all freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War.

The army chief lauded the contribution of Corps of Signals to national development through dedicated service.

Senior military officials from the Army Headquarters, ARTDOC, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Directorate General of Defence Purchase (DGDP), and the 55 Infantry Division; commanders of all signal brigades; unit commanding officers; and members of the media were present.

The ISPR statement also said Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez formally took charge on Sunday as the 11th colonel commandant of the Corps of Signals at the STC&S in Jashore Cantonment.

His investiture ceremony was held at Shaheed Abdul Hamid Parade Ground with due military tradition, where the senior-most officer and the senior-most master warrant officer adorned the new colonel commandant with the rank badges.

A smartly turned-out contingent then presented him with a guard of honour, ISPR added.
