SME Foundation to organise National SME Business Plan Competition
The SME Foundation will organise the third edition of its innovative business idea competition, titled "National SME Business Plan Competition 2025."
The second edition of the competition was held in 2012.
Those interested in participating in the competition should submit their applications by November 20, 2025, in the prescribed format, which can be found on the SME Foundation's verified Facebook page and website.
The selection committee will review the applications and create an initial shortlist, according to a press release.
Entrepreneurs on this list will receive training on MSME business plan preparation techniques.
Dates and times for the training will be communicated via letter, and no allowance will be provided.
After the training, participants will have approximately one month to prepare and submit their business plans according to the provided guidelines.
All information, data, and research must be realistic, well-referenced, and acceptable.
A jury comprising renowned individuals from across the country will evaluate the plans and prepare a final shortlist.
The ultimate winner will be selected through a pitch competition from the shortlisted entries.
The first prize winner will receive Tk 5 lakh, while the second- and third-prize winners will be awarded Tk 3 lakh and Tk 2 lakh, respectively.
In addition, the competition aims to familiarise MSME entrepreneurs with fundamental business planning strategies, helping them remain proactive and vigilant in successfully and profitably managing their businesses.
Participants will learn to identify market demand, manage marketing and production operations, oversee human resources, set sales targets, ensure proper use of materials and resources, assess and mitigate business risks, produce goods at affordable costs, conduct financial analyses including profit and loss calculations, and improve productivity.
