Fans of "Friends" can finally watch the conclusion of its short-lived spinoff "Joey", as the final eight unaired episodes have been released nearly 20 years after the series was cancelled.

The episodes, which never aired in the US following NBC's decision to cancel the show midway through its second season in 2006, are now available on the official Friends YouTube channel alongside the other 38 episodes.

Starring Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, the sitcom followed the character's move from New York to Los Angeles in hopes of advancing his acting career. The cast also featured Drea de Matteo, Paulo Costanzo, Jennifer Coolidge and Andrea Anders.

Created by "Friends" producers Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri, "Joey" launched strongly with 18.6 million viewers but quickly lost momentum. Reflecting on its decline in 2006, executive producer Kevin S Bright said the character was "deconstructed" into a version audiences no longer recognised or rooted for.
