Paramount to release James Cameron’s Billie Eilish concert film
Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish will bring her latest concert experience to the big screen with a new 3D film directed by legendary filmmaker James Cameron. Paramount Pictures announced the movie, titled "Hit Me Hard and Soft", will be released in theaters on March 20, 2026.
Eilish shared the exciting news on social media and made a special announcement to fans at the final show of her tour in San Francisco. Cameron also posted about the film's release on his social media accounts. The movie takes its name from Eilish's third studio album and captures performances from her recent tour.
The two-time Oscar winner first revealed the project back in July during a concert stop in Manchester, England, telling the crowd that the three-time Oscar-winning director had cameras filming in the arena. This marks a significant step up for Eilish's concert films. Her previous movie, "Live at the O2" in 2023, had a limited release and earned just over $1 million at theaters. With Paramount's full support behind this new film, it's expected to reach a much wider audience.
Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" album has been a critical success, receiving seven Grammy nominations this year including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. The song "Wildflower" from the album is nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the upcoming Grammy Awards in February 2026.
