Priyanka Chopra’s fierce ‘Mandakini’ look unveiled as Rajamouli welcomes her back to Indian cinema
Priyanka Chopra has returned to Indian cinema with a striking first look from S S Rajamouli's new film, tentatively titled "GlobeTrotter". The director unveiled the poster on Wednesday (November 12), welcoming the actor back to the industry after years of primarily working in Hollywood.
Sharing the poster on social media, Rajamouli wrote, "The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl! Can't wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of Mandakini."
Chopra posted the same image, captioning it: "She's more than what meets the eye… say hello to Mandakini." Co-star Mahesh Babu also shared the look, writing, "And now she arrives… Meet Mandakini."
The poster suggests a departure from the typical commercial heroine image. Dressed in a vivid yellow sari often associated with classic Bollywood sequences, Chopra is instead shown in an action-heavy moment — positioned on the edge of a cliff, firing a gun while struggling to maintain balance.
The dramatic image quickly ignited excitement online, with fans calling the look "pure fire". One commenter wrote, "Priyanka in a sari with a gun in Rajamouli's world? This plus Mahesh Babu equals a box-office tsunami." Another added that the poster marks an "epic redefinition of desi power".
"GlobeTrotter", which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, marks Chopra's high-profile return to mainstream Indian cinema. Further details about her character Mandakini and the film's storyline remain under wraps.
