Stars of yesteryears turn up for Victory Day criclet
Bangladesh Cricket Board celebrated Victory Day with a match between Mohammad Ashraful-led Shaheed Mustaq XI and Minhajul Abedin Nannu's Shaheed Jewel XI on Tuesday.
Both teams lined up in the morning for photo sessions ahead of the match. Former captains Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and Faruque Ahmed attended the match amidst a festive atmosphere at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Ashraful made just 8 but Nadeef Chowdhury was the star for Shaheed Mustaq XI with a 26-ball 46, ably supported by Tushar Imran's 42 as Mustaq XI reached 138 for 6 in 15 overs. Abdur Razzak bagged three for 17.
In reply, Shaheed Jewel XI managed 100 for 4 with Shahriar Nafees scoring a team high 36.
