Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) chairman Adnan Rahman on Wednesday said that they will resume the Dhaka First Division Cricket League on December 21 with a revised schedule after eight clubs got relegated following walkovers in the first round.

The eight clubs are -- Partex Sporting Club, Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy, Kalabagan Krira Chakra, Amber Sporting Club, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity, Orient Sporting Club, Kakrail Boys Club and Surjotorun Club.

They no showed in protest of alleged irregularities in recent BCB elections.

The CCDM had initially started the league on December 14 with a fixture list containing all 20 teams but after two match days, only three of 10 matches were played with the rest seeing walkovers.

The CCDM on Wednesday sat with the 12 remaining clubs to discuss a revised fixture.

"Since eight clubs have been relegated, there will be some changes and the number of games will be reduced. After discussing with 12 teams regarding the fixtures, we have now decided on starting the league from next Sunday," the CCDM chairman told the media on Wednesday.

He also said that the board plans to organise a tournament with players who could not participate in the league due to clubs' boycott.

"We can't involve the eight clubs from the board's perspective... We are trying to organise a tournament [for the players who have missed out] quickly," Adnan added.

The CCDM informed that the second round's fixture will be handed to clubs on Thursday and although the eight teams have been relegated, the remaining teams will all get eight points from walkovers.

"Each team would have played nine matches in the group phase but now with eight teams not participating, there will be four matches less and the teams will get the eight points automatically."
